City Officials Training Seminars
Our City Officials Training (COT) seminars are offered each spring, mid-April through mid-May, at multiple locations. We’ve designed our COT seminars to meet the training needs of city officials by providing a high-quality and convenient program that covers the fundamentals of municipal governance. Attendees of our COT seminars qualify for four credit hours with MML’s Missouri Governance Institute (MGI).
COT seminar topics typically include the following:
- Overview of municipal government
- Conducting city business
- Taxation, revenue, and parks taxes
- Municipal budgeting
- Sunshine Law
- Ethics, conflicts of interest, and nepotism
- Sovereign immunity and insurance
- Zoning
- Public safety
